SAE Foundation Presents FEV-Sponsored Stefan Pischinger Young Industry Leadership Award
AUBURN HILLS, Mich., May 18, 2012 /PRNewswire/ -- FEV, Inc., a leading developer of advanced powertrain and vehicle technologies, announced today that the SAE Foundation's Stefan Pischinger Young Industry Leadership Award has been presented to Shady El Safty, GM China and Telikepali Kumar Prasad, Eaton Corporation. FEV, Inc. president and CEO Gary Rogers made the announcement. The award was presented at the SAE Foundation annual banquet, held on May 16, 2012 at Ford Field in Detroit, Michigan. FEV also announced that, for the next four years, it will continue to sponsor the award.
The annual Young Industry Leadership award, sponsored by FEV, Inc. is named for Prof. Stefan Pischinger, president and CEO of its parent company, FEV GmbH, headquartered in Aachen, Germany. It is presented annually at the SAE Foundation banquet to promote careers in the engineering community by recognizing young men and women, ages 35 and under, who have achieved major accomplishments and show significant potential for leadership growth.
"Our role in advancing and supporting STEM, or Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math education has become one of the pillars of our community outreach," said Rogers. "This commitment comes naturally to FEV. In addition to leading our company for many years, our founder, Prof. Franz Pischinger, spent much of his career as an educator at the RWTH Aachen University and had educated thousands of engineers, many of whom are, today, in leadership positions in our industry. Today, Prof. Stefan Pischinger leads the global company and has demonstrated by example just how important this philosophy continues to be for our company through his dual position as CEO of FEV GmbH and Director of the Institute for Combustion Engines at the RWTH Aachen University. We are not only extremely proud to continue this commitment toward education and developing the next generation of business and engineering leaders, but feel that this is a necessary role to protect and enhance the future viability of our industry."
