SAE Foundation Honors Corporate Donors During Annual Banquet
DETROIT, May 25 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- The SAE Foundation honored and thanked three corporate donors during its annual banquet on May 20, 2010, at The Ritz-Carlton, Dearborn, Mich.
- John Deere was honored for its $250,000 donation toward the "Learn Twice" program, which engages university students by facilitating opportunities to volunteer in A World In Motion® classrooms. Students who volunteer during the school year will be reimbursed for the cost of registration to one of SAE International's Collegiate Design Series events. The $250,000 gift provides funding for the necessary training, curriculum, and materials to teachers and university students in the U.S. and Canada interested in participating in this special initiative. AVL was honored for its $140,000 pledge that will be used to promote the continued awareness, funding and distribution of SAE International's education programs.
- DELPHI Foundation was honored for its $100,000 gift that provides the SAE Foundation with funding to support and promote the programs of SAE International. In addition, DELPHI also is a Supplier Elite Sponsor for the banquet.

In addition to honoring these companies, the SAE Foundation Banquet featured presentation of Industry Leadership Awards to Rodney O'Neal (2010), CEO and president of Delphi, and Jim Press (2009), a consultant and advisor, and former vice chairman and president of Chrysler, and president and CEO of Toyota Motors North America. Both O'Neal and Press made speeches during the ceremony.
Also, Young Manufacturing Leadership Awards for 2009 and 2010 were presented.
