Sabre Energy Services, LLC Evaluates Water Re-Use and "Green" Alternatives for the Development of the Marcellus Shale Region
ALBANY, N.Y., April 13, 2011 /PRNewswire/ -- Sabre Energy Services, LLC announced today that their Chairman and Chief Technology Officer, John Y. Mason, will be presenting at the upcoming Marcellus Shale gas water management-related conference in Canonsburg, Pennsylvania on April 13, 2011 titled Examining Cutting Edge Technologies and Best Practices to Optimize Water Sourcing, Maximize Re-Use and Efficiently Manage Flowback Water in Shale Gas Production. With the significant increased focus on the cost and environmental impact of water usage in the industry, Mr. Mason has been asked to address the scientific and regulatory issues surrounding the use of biocides in drilling, hydraulic fracturing, and treatment and re-use of flowback water, and will present an evaluation titled, "Examining the Use of Chlorine Dioxide as a Key Part of the "Re-Use" Process as an Efficacious "Green" Alternative to Conventional Biocides."
Mr. Mason has worked in the petroleum production industry since 1988 and has authored over a hundred patents and papers related to petroleum production and environmental applications. He founded the International Chlorine Dioxide Panel in 1987 and is considered a steward for its safe and efficacious application. He has been the technical lead on numerous projects including the establishment of municipal water chlorine dioxide guidelines and resolution of NORM regulation in the petroleum industry. In 2001, he was selected by the US Government as the technical lead for the decontamination of the US Capitol following the anthrax attacks.
