Saab Hosts NC Government Announcement of DoD Grant for State's Defense Industry
LILLINGTON, N.C., April 20, 2017 /PRNewswire/ -- Saab Defense and Security USA hosted North Carolina's Veterans and Military Affairs Secretary Larry Hall on April 20 as he announced that his state had won a grant from the U.S. Department of Defense. The grant will assist businesses and communities that have been impacted by defense spending cuts.
The announcement took place at Saab Defense and Security USA's Lillington, North Carolina facility, which designs, tests, and manufactures camouflage products for the U.S. military.
"Saab is honored to host Secretary Hall as he makes this exciting announcement," said Brian Keller, President and General Manager of Saab Defense and Security USA in Lillington. "We're a proud member of the North Carolina defense community, and we want to see it continue to thrive."
Part of the global company Saab, Saab Defense and Security USA has four U.S. sites, and hopes to continue expanding its U.S. manufacturing capabilities.
"Our facility has supplied the U.S. military with American-made camouflage products since 2002," said Keller. "As drone usage escalates and U.S. presence in Europe expands, we foresee even greater demand for our offerings – and we plan to grow accordingly."
