Ryan's Jason DeCuir Appointed to Louisiana Sales Tax Streamlining and Modernization Commission

DALLAS, Aug. 18, 2015 /PRNewswire/ -- Jason DeCuir, Director of Public Affairs with Ryan, a leading global tax services firm, has been appointed to the Louisiana Sales Tax Streamlining and Modernization Commission where he will make recommendations for how changes in state and local sales tax policy can better position Louisiana for the future in terms of equity and economic competitiveness.

The Sales Tax Streamlining and Modernization Commission was established to perform a comprehensive study of Louisiana's state and local sales tax systems and to make recommendations to the Legislature regarding revisions of practices, administrative procedure, and statutory and constitutional law.

Mr. DeCuir is an experienced tax attorney with a Master of Tax Law degree from Georgetown University and has held positions in both the public and private sectors. Most recently, he was the Chief of Staff, Assistant Secretary, and Executive Counsel for the Louisiana Department of Revenue. During that tenure, he was responsible for tax policy, litigation, and legislative affairs. In 2013, Mr. DeCuir was one of the lead architects in an effort by the state of Louisiana to help reform the state tax code. Specifically, this included legislation to create a uniform sales tax commission in Louisiana. Since joining Ryan, he has also represented the Louisiana Association of Business and Industry, which is the largest business association in Louisiana.
