Ryan's®, HomeTown® Buffet, and Old Country® Buffet Serve a Feast of Favorites for St. Patrick's Day
GREER, S.C., March 15, 2013 /PRNewswire/ -- It doesn't take the luck of the Irish to enjoy great tasting food at Ryan's®, HomeTown® Buffet, and Old Country® Buffet this St. Patrick's Day or any day of the year. Visit the popular steak-buffet restaurants on Sunday, March 17 to enjoy special offerings for St. Patrick's Day, also known as the Feast of St. Patrick.
"We're always striving to serve more of what our guests want, more often," said Alice Crowder, Vice President, Marketing for Buffets, Inc. "Serving special dishes to celebrate holidays like St. Patrick's Day gives us an opportunity to have a little fun and gives the families who dine with us a chance to try something new."
On March 17, all Buffets, Inc. buffet restaurants will be serving Irish favorites: corned beef, steamed cabbage, and red potatoes. The corned beef is available exclusively on St. Patrick's Day, but the cabbage and potatoes may be enjoyed in delicious variations throughout the year.
The Irish are linked with potatoes in history and culture, and at Ryan's, HomeTown Buffet, and Old Country Buffet you can find plenty of options for enjoying the classic spud. To name just a few, there are mashed potatoes with white or brown gravy, Ranch Red Potatoes, baked potatoes with toppers, baked sweet potatoes, sweet potato souffle, cheesy potatoes, fried potatoes and onions, Cowboy Grilled Potatoes, and a favorite for kids, French fries. There are potatoes to delight all appetites as well as to complement entrees like Rancher's Selectsm grilled sirloin, meatloaf, pot roast, baked fish, and more. The menus will vary by location.
Kids See Green Too!
Families will be seeing green on St. Patrick's Day, but it's all sweet-natured with holiday-inspired cupcakes. The yellow and white cake cupcakes are topped with green frosting and sprinkled with mint chocolate candies. The themed cupcakes are available on the dessert bar on March 17 and every Thursday in March as part of Family Nights.
St. Patrick's Day is not a legal holiday in the United States, but it is widely recognized and celebrated throughout the country. The holiday primarily celebrates Irish and Irish American culture. Many people wear green for good luck, feast, attend religious events and participate in parades. The holiday has been celebrated in North America since the late 18th century.
