DALLAS, April 24, 2017 /PRNewswire/ -- Ryan, a leading global tax services firm with the largest indirect and property tax practices in North America, has reorganized its senior leadership structure to support the next stage of its strategic growth plan to becoming the dominant global brand in tax. The move follows a year of record financial performance in 2016, where the Firm posted the highest annual revenue in its history while recording a 44% improvement in EBITDA year over year.
New Chief Operating Officer
Ginny Buckner Kissling has been appointed Ryan's new Chief Operating Officer. Ms. Kissling will lead Ryan's global operations in the United States, Canada, Europe, and Asia-Pacific, including Service Delivery, Business Development, and Global Shared Services. She will report directly to the Chairman and CEO.
Ms. Kissling began her career with Ryan in 1992 as the Firm's first intern and seventh employee hired. Her outstanding technical expertise and commitment to superior client service resulted in her promotion to Principal in November 2002, becoming the Firm's first female to hold this esteemed title. She is the 2015 Chairman's Award recipient, is the third most tenured executive in the Firm, and previously served as the Transaction Tax Co-Practice Leader and most recently, President of U.S. Operations.
New President of U.S. Operations
Damon Chronis has been promoted to fill the critical role of President, U.S. Operations that was vacated as a result of Ms. Kissling's promotion. Mr. Chronis will be responsible for all aspects of Ryan's tax service delivery operations within the United States, with all U.S. Practice Leaders reporting directly to him.
Mr. Chronis began his career with Ryan in 1999 and was promoted to Principal in May 2006, becoming the Firm's youngest executive promoted to this title. He is the 2014 Chairman's Award recipient and has served as Transaction Tax Practice Leader since 2012, managing the Firm's largest revenue-generating practice.
New Transaction Tax Practice Leaders
To fill the role of Transaction Tax Practice Leader vacated by Damon Chronis, Josh Cohen has been appointed Transaction Tax Practice Leader, and Clara Kippes has been appointed Transaction Tax Vice-Practice Leader.
Mr. Cohen is Ryan's Transaction Tax Practice Leader based in the Dallas office, where he specializes in providing transaction tax consulting services to clients in a variety of industries including the defense, financial, manufacturing, oil and gas, retail, service, technology, and transportation sectors. He oversees the Transaction Tax practice transformation, which is aimed at transforming the process and technology utilized by the service delivery teams. Mr. Cohen joined the Firm in 2002, and lectures on various tax topics for Ryan clients and the Ryan Professional Development Program. Additionally, he has appeared as a speaker for the Interstate Tax Corporation. He is a Certified Member of the Institute (CMI), Institute for Professionals in Taxation. Mr. Cohen holds a Bachelor of Business Administration degree from Emory University.
Ms. Kippes is Ryan's Transaction Tax Vice-Practice Leader based in the Fort Lauderdale office where she specializes in providing transaction tax services to clients in the retail and manufacturing industries. She joined the Firm in January 1999 and lectures on various tax topics for Ryan clients and the Ryan Professional Development Program. She is a Certified Member of the Institute (CMI), Institute for Professionals in Taxation, holding this certification since 2006. Ms. Kippes received her Bachelor of Business Administration degree in Accounting and Finance from Texas A&M University.
