RxAlly Member Pharmacies Invited To Become The Preferred Network For Smart Insurance Company Holdings, Inc.
LEESBURG, Va., Aug. 8, 2012 /PRNewswire/ -- RxAlly, a first-of-its-kind alliance of more than 22,000 pharmacies nationwide, announced today that its member pharmacies will be exclusively invited to form the preferred network to Smart Insurance Company Holdings, Inc., a provider of innovative health care solutions to the senior market (www.smartdrx.com). Through this relationship, RxAlly in October will help introduce, pending final approval from the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services, SmartD Rx(sm), Smart Insurance Company Holding's new Medicare Part D prescription drug plan.
The RxAlly member pharmacies who participate will serve as dedicated wellness partners, playing a key role in the delivery of quality health care to seniors and Medicare beneficiaries. RxAlly's member pharmacies currently include independent pharmacies; regional chains such as Kerr Drug, Thrifty White Pharmacy and Bartell Drugs; and a national chain, Walgreens.
"The network will be designed to meet the ever-changing needs of the current Medicare population, in addition to the 10,000 people who are turning 65 every day, across the U.S.," said Bruce Roberts, RxAlly CEO. "Our member pharmacies are ideally suited to become the trusted health care partners and destinations that seniors and Medicare beneficiaries deserve."
"By teaming with RxAlly and inviting its expansive network of trusted neighborhood pharmacies across the country to form our preferred network, Smart Insurance Company Holdings will be uniquely positioned to play a significant role in shaping prescription solutions for seniors," said Pritpal Virdee, Smart Insurance Company Holdings CEO.
RxAlly is a performance network of aligned pharmacies, united to help patients achieve better health through personalized pharmacist care while reducing costs. The company was developed to provide a new solution to the critical issues of providing additional access to care and ensuring effective health care spending at a time when the incorrect use of prescription medicine is associated with $290 billion in annual costs.
