Rx Savings Solutions Launches "Contact Prescriber" Feature

OVERLAND PARK, Kan., Nov. 20, 2017 /PRNewswire/ -- For the more than 1 million members with access to the Rx Savings Solutions desktop and mobile app, saving money on a medication can sometimes require a new prescription from their prescriber. They can now request and initiate this switch in a matter of seconds.

For members, the new Contact Prescriber feature automates the process of requesting the change to a lower-cost but therapeutically equivalent option, contacting their physician, and calling the new prescription in to the retail or mail-order pharmacy requested by the member.

When a registered member logs into Rx Savings Solutions, they can view all available Savings Alerts for their medications from a personal dashboard. If a savings suggestion requires a different prescription, the member can simply click "Contact my prescriber!" to put the following wheels in motion:

• The member's chosen pharmacy is contacted with the requested prescription change.
• The prescriber is contacted for authorization on the change, removing the burden and back-and-forth from the member.
• A follow-up email is sent to the member with the anticipated completion date.
• The member is notified when the new prescription is ready to be picked up.
