Ruth's Chris Steak House to Host Final TasteMaker Dinner with Marchesi Antinori, One of Italy's Most-Famous Wine Houses
The five-course dinner, which will be held at select locations across the country on October 15 and 16, is the sixth and final dinner in this year's series
WINTER PARK, Fla., Oct. 5, 2017 /PRNewswire/ -- Ruth's Chris Steak House is closing out its acclaimed TasteMaker Dinner series with the Guado al Tasso Estate wines of Marchesi Antinori, one of Italy's most historic and renowned wine houses. Ruth's TasteMaker Dinners were launched earlier this year and have featured exclusive menu and pairings from some of the most awarded and revered wine and spirits makers in the world, from Veuve Clicquot to Johnnie Walker Whisky. The sixth and final dinner in the series for 2017 will be held on October 15 and 16, and will include an Italian-inspired, five-course meal to complement the Antinori family's celebrated Tuscan wines from Bolgheri.
"Tuscan wines are known for being fuller-bodied and bold so we wanted to create a menu that enhanced those distinct characteristics," said Abdiel Aleman, Vice President of Culinary Development for Ruth's Chris Steak House. "For this menu, we took classic Italian flavors and dishes and fused them into our own traditional steakhouse fare."
The resulting courses include pairings like Beef Tenderloin Carpaccio served alongside the Tenuta Guado al Tasso Scalabrone Rosato—which has a crisp flavor similar to a French rosé, but is richer in taste and color. Other courses which will be served at the dinner include Burrata Cheese and Heirloom Tomato Salad, Pan Seared Halibut and Patatas Bravas, Porcini Rubbed Filet topped with Fried Veal Ravioli and a Banana and Honey Panna Cotta.
Ruth's TasteMaker Dinners were inspired by Ruth's Chris Steak House founder Ruth Fertel, who mortgaged her home more than 50 years ago to purchase her first restaurant. The single mother had no prior restaurant experience, but was able to succeed because of her commitment to providing exceptional food and service to all of her guests. Each of the pairing partners for the TasteMaker Dinners has stories that echo Fertel's own fearless spirit of entrepreneurship and dedication to quality.
Marchesi Antinori is one of the oldest, family-owned wine companies in the world and can trace its winemaking history in Italy back to 1385. Throughout its long, storied history of innovation, the Antinori family is most notably credited with sparking the Italian wine revolution of the 1970's with its creation of Tignanello – one the world's first "Super Tuscan" wines.
