Rusty Hardin Selected as Fellow of Litigation Counsel of America
HOUSTON, Aug. 13, 2013 /PRNewswire/ -- Acclaimed trial attorney Rusty Hardin of Houston's Rusty Hardin & Associates, LLP, has been selected as a fellow of the Litigation Counsel of America (LCA), an invitation-only trial lawyer honorary society.
"I'm humbled by this honor and grateful for the recognition of my peers," says Mr. Hardin. "We work hard to represent our clients to the best of our abilities, and achieving justice for them is our best reward. Still, it's nice to be recognized by our fellow members of the bar."
The LCA recognizes deserving, experienced and highly qualified lawyers and provides an outlet for scholarly authorship of legal articles on trial and litigation practice. LCA fellows are selected after being evaluated on effectiveness and accomplishments in litigation and trial work, along with their ethical reputations.
Earlier this year, Mr. Hardin was named by The National Law Journal to the 2013 edition of The 100 Most Influential Lawyers in America, an elite list of attorneys who have shaped the legal world, taken on major legal battles, and delivered great results for clients. The National Law Journal cited Mr. Hardin's successful tenacious defense of former professional baseball player Roger Clemens, who won a full acquittal against federal perjury charges. The publication also noted Mr. Hardin's prior role as a prosecutor in the Office of the Independent Counsel during the Whitewater investigation in 1994.
Mr. Hardin's experience has run the gamut, from helping ExxonMobil secure a favorable settlement in a 2006 lawsuit over plant construction, to a 2000 case where he helped Dow Jones overturn the largest libel verdict of its time. He famously sparred with the late Anna Nicole Smith in a probate trial over the estate of Texas billionaire J. Howard Marshall II, which Mr. Hardin's clients won. He has represented such notable figures as former Houston Mayor Bob Lanier and the City of Houston, professional sports figures Wade Boggs, Warren Moon, Rudy Tomjanovich, Calvin Murphy and Adrian Peterson, and a number of public officials in Texas.
Rusty Hardin & Associates, LLP, has built a solid reputation for taking on the causes of its clients and obtaining favorable results in both civil matters and significant criminal cases. For more information, please visit http://rustyhardin.com.
