"Android is the chosen platform for the majority of the world's smartphone users, so we've created an app specifically tailored to the new 4.3 experience," said Florian Gschwandtner, CEO of Runtastic. "And since the Runtastic heart rate monitor is already compatible with new Bluetooth Smart Ready Android phones, we're providing a comprehensive fitness destination for Android users."
Runtastic Sets New Standards
Runtastic version 4.0 has been completely redesigned, following the new Android Holo design guidelines, to present a lighter, more elegant user interface. Maps have been integrated into the main screen during activities to allow users to easily use and view the route feature offering. And the innovative drawer navigation grants users quick and direct access to all menu items.
Runtastic Proprietary Hardware for Android Smartphones
All Bluetooth Smart Ready devices running the Android 4.3 operating system – and Samsung's Galaxy series (S4, S3, S3 Mini, and Note 2) – support Bluetooth Smart technology, which allows users to integrate Runtastic proprietary fitness hardware into their workout routines. Runtastic's Bluetooth Heart Rate Monitor can now sync directly to Android 4.3 devices without using a receiver. Runtastic is currently working to make its Speed and Cadence Sensor sync via Bluetooth Smart to the Runtastic Road Bike and Mountain Bike apps.
