Run for Your Lives takes participants through a series of 10 to 12 manmade and natural obstacles – including a blood pit, zombie-infested maze and smokehouse – over a 5K course, all while being chased by professionally made up zombies. Participants can sign up as a runner, zombie or both, or choose to stand on the sidelines as a spectator and watch participants run for their lives. The inaugural race, which launched in Darlington, Md. in 2011, attracted more than 10,000 participants and spectators. In 2012, the race invaded 12 U.S. cities and hosted more than 100,000 participants who tested their survival skills against the zombie apocalypse.
"Run For Your Lives is excited to bring a unique physical and mental challenge to zombie-enthusiasts, fitness fanatics and first-time runners from coast-to-coast," said Ryan Hogan, managing director of Reed Street Productions and co-creator of Run For Your Lives. "Whether you are excited to get chased by zombies, be transformed into the undead or just enjoy watching people scream like little girls while being chased, Run For Your Lives offers a little something for everyone."

About Run For Your Lives
Run For Your Lives is the brainchild of Reed Street Productions, a Maryland-based limited liability company formed in February 2011. Run For Your Lives launched in October 2011 in Darlington, Md., and attracted more than 10,000 participants and spectators. In 2012, Reed Street took the race national, launching in more than a dozen locations across the U.S. Each race takes participants through a series of manmade and natural obstacles over a 5K zombie-infested course. Racers, wearing a flag football-like belt with three flags, must make strategic choices to find the quickest route to the finish line with at least one flag remaining to complete the race as a survivor. Survivors and newly-created "zombies" – those who finish without flags – are able to celebrate at the Apocalypse Party, a post-race event that features live and local entertainment, music, vendors, food, beverages, and of course, zombies.
