Ruby-Gordon Cares: International Women's Day - Generations Bank Places Opening Bid For Susan B. Anthony Caricature
ROCHESTER, N.Y., March 1, 2016 /PRNewswire/ -- Generations Bank, headquartered in the Finger Lakes region, has placed an opening bid of $10,000 for the caricature of Susan B. Anthony to benefit the National Women's Hall of Fame. World renowned Caricature Artist, Philip Burke, will be creating the five foot tall caricature of Rochester's own Susan B. Anthony live at Ruby-Gordon Furniture & Mattress on March 8th and 9th.
March 8th has been designated as International Women's Day. It is the day the world "celebrates the social, economic, cultural, and political achievements of women." International Women's Day has been celebrated around the world for more than a century, and this year, Ruby-Gordon joins the celebration along with the National Women's Hall of Fame, whose mission is "Showcasing great women, inspiring all". Philip Burke will start with a white canvas at 10:30am on March 8th and work until 2pm that same day. Mr. Burke will come back the morning of March 9th to finish up the caricature.
