Rubbermaid Ad Ranked Most Effective TV Spot of 2009
Ad rating shows significant advance in Newell Rubbermaid's consumer-driven marketing transformation
ATLANTA, Jan. 14, 2010 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- Investing in strategic marketing to drive growth, Newell Rubbermaid (NYSE: NWL) today announced its Rubbermaid® brand had the highest rated television advertisement in the U.S. market during 2009, according to rating firm Ace Metrix.
Rubbermaid's "Neat. Not." ad received the top score for creative effectiveness among all TV ads, and also was the highest scoring ad in the consumer products category, in Ace Metrix's "Ace Score" ranking for 2009. The ad highlights the dramatic difference in how two women organize their food storage containers: the first opens her kitchen cabinets to encounter an avalanche of containers tumbling out, while the second woman keeps her cabinets neat and organized with Rubbermaid Easy Find Lids™ containers. Easy Find Lids are a family of food storage containers with lids that snap to the bottom of the container and stack together for neat and compact organization. The ad invites consumers to visit www.easyfindlids.com for more information and money-saving coupons.
"The ad scored well in the Ace Metrix system, but more importantly it also built our Rubbermaid business in the marketplace," said Ted Woehrle, Senior Vice President of Marketing and Brand Management at Newell Rubbermaid. "The business results illustrate the benefits of getting close to the consumer and investing in brand-building programs. Across all our brands, we are improving our ability to identify and understand consumer needs, increasing our pipeline of innovative new products, and investing in marketing programs to build brands that matter."
The Ace Metrix Ace Score is a patent-pending rating of creative effectiveness based on measures of persuasion and watchability. Rubbermaid's "Neat. Not." television ad can be viewed at www.youtube.com/user/RubbermaidOnline.
