Premiere Cat Organizations Convene to Improve Feline Health and Welfare
ST. CHARLES, Mo., April 19, 2017 /PRNewswire/ -- Royal Canin, a global pet food leader, today announced its global sponsorship of the upcoming World Cat Congress (WCC) in Las Vegas, NV. on April 21-24, 2017. The company, along with members of nine global feline organizations, will meet for educational seminars, followed by a two day all-breed cat show hosted by the Cat Fanciers' Association, and will conclude with a final meeting of the delegates at the World Cat Congress.
"As a leader in the pet industry, we are honored to play a large role in this year's World Cat Congress and continue our partnership of nearly 12 years," said Jason Taylor, Pro Breeder Director at Royal Canin. "We place a huge emphasis on feline health and wellness – and are looking forward to discussing solutions for common feline issues consumers and breeders experience. We are proud to support the World Cat Congress's noble mission to promote better understanding and cooperation among the world's major cat associations."
The seminars and discussions throughout the congress will cover topics such as genetics, research, nutrition, and ways to improve feline health and welfare. Dr. Rick Kesler, a Royal Canin veterinarian, will conduct a seminar on reproductive nutrition.
Spectators are invited to experience the rare opportunity to meet and interact with a wide variety of unique and fascinating cat breeds they've only heard of or seen in pictures and watch the judging of the international entries for the World Cat Congress show on April 22-23, 2017. The event will take place at the Rio All-Suite Hotel and Casino in the Amazon Ballroom. The show is one of the largest international pedigreed and household pet cat shows, which travels the world appearing in different countries annually. It will be held Saturday, April 22 from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. and on Sunday, April 23, from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. The show will include a variety of vendors highlighting unique gifts for cat owners.
Additionally, Royal Canin will have on-site activation tailored to the breeders in attendance. The company is offering each exhibitor a professional mini photo shoot with a complimentary commemorative black and white photo. Samples of breed diets will also be available.
Royal Canin and World Cat Congress have already started working on several initiatives together including: developing 52 digital cat breed sheets with the most detailed content on cat breeds to allow for easy comparisons, a cat breed finder to help future owners choose the cat breed best adapted to their expectations and lifestyle, and a cat encyclopedia that will launch on June 22, 2017.
