Rowe Elementary School Named a Mutual of America 2014 Community Partnership Award Winner

NEW YORK, Nov. 20, 2014 /PRNewswire/ -- Mutual of America announced today that Rowe Elementary School was named a Merit Finalist in the 2014 Community Partnership Award competition.

Since 1891, the Northwestern University Settlement Association has nurtured, educated and inspired children, families and seniors in Chicago's needy West Town community. In 2008, Northwestern Settlement partnered with John and Jeanne Rowe and others to create Rowe Elementary School, a charter school with a visionary approach to fostering educational success.

Rowe's mission is to prepare students to successfully graduate college. From college tours that begin in kindergarten to college-prep coaching, children are given resources, tools and encouragement to help them reach their fullest potential. Rowe currently serves 700 scholars in grades K–7. Importantly, parents have access to Northwestern Settlement's education, social services and arts programs.
