The Rotary Lift Double-Section Scissor Lift's twin platforms were designed with productivity in mind. To service the widest range of vehicles, the lift's extra wide platforms feature hinged ramps that fold up and lock in place to extend the vehicle pick-up point surface. The ramps also can fold 65 degrees down and away, to give technicians more access to perform wheel and brake service. With more than 78 inches in clearance (when installed above ground) the lift provides technicians more headroom than competitive lifts. A low-profile design allows vehicles to pass over the lift platforms with ease.
The Rotary Lift Double-Section Scissor Lift incorporates a patent-pending, fully mechanical hydraulic system that does the lifting work equally for both platforms. Named Synchrodrive™, the hydraulic equalization system uses fewer moving parts, hoses, valves and seals than other scissor lift systems. The lift also features a unique blocked platform protection system that guards against the accidental blockage of the scissor mechanisms when lowering the lift.
"We conducted extensive field testing on the RLP77 Double-Section Scissor Lift," says Bob Ford, Rotary Lift new product development manager. "In many cases, it was positioned in a bay right next to a competitive scissor lift. The technicians loved the blocked platform protection, the smooth, easy operation and the rigidity of the lift – it doesn't bend, flex or strain when they put a heavier vehicle on it."
Rotary Lift engineered the Double-Section Scissor Lift with a built-in damper system. This eliminates the sudden acceleration in the last three to five inches of descent typical with other scissor lifts, which often results in a loud bang when the lift hits the floor. The Rotary Lift damper system allows the lift to quickly, steadily and smoothly descend all the way to the bottom.
Other unique features include a hot dipped galvanized bottom weldment for corrosion protection, patent-pending scissor legs manufactured of composite high-strength steel, and stainless steel kicker rollers and kick plate to eliminate corrosion on high wear areas. For added protection against accidental damage, the lift filter, regulator and lubricator assembly is located in a recessed area on the side of the control cabinet.
In addition to the new scissor lift, dealers can check out several other productivity-enhancing lifts in Rotary Lift's 2016 NADA Expo booth. A display showing the features of SmartLift®, the world's most popular environmentally friendly inground lift, will be featured. The company will be staging "lift races" in which attendees can watch how much faster a Shockwave-equipped lift can raise a car than a standard lift. Dealers who are interested in servicing increasingly popular tall European-style vans will want to check out the SPO12 extended height two-post lift on display. Attendees can see additional Rotary Lift products in the Ford Motor Company (#123C), FCA US LLC (#5314N) and General Motors LLC (#2529C) booths on the trade show floor.
