Rotary Lift to Debut New MOD35 Modular Heavy-Duty Inground Lift at APTA Expo
MADISON, Ind., Sept. 29, 2014 /PRNewswire/ -- Rotary Lift will debut its MOD35 modular environmentally friendly inground lift at next month's APTA Expo. The MOD35 heavy-duty inground lift series is built on the success of Rotary Lift's MOD30 environmentally friendly inground lift, which was introduced at APTA Expo 2002. More than 1,100 MOD30 "Heavyweight Champion" lifts have been installed over the last 12 years. The new MOD35 series continues the "championship" reign with best-in-class lifting capacity and clear bay space, patent-pending pendant controls and a lower installation cost.

The MOD35 will be showcased in Rotary Lift's booth, #3447, along with Rotary's new MW-500 mobile wheel lift and its popular Mach™ Series mobile column lift. The APTA Expo will be held Oct. 13-15 at the George R. Brown Convention Center in Houston.
"We are really excited to show transit professionals all the updates and improvements we've made to our MOD Series with the introduction of the MOD35 heavy-duty inground lift," says Doug Spiller, heavy-duty product manager for Rotary Lift. "The new lift includes all the features they love about the MOD30, with the addition of a wide range of improvements that make the MOD35 easier to use, more cost-effective and durable."
Each MOD35 inground lift comes standard with a patent-pending pendant that allows technicians to operate the lift from anywhere in the bay. The pendant's joystick provides infinitely variable speed control for precise positioning of the lift. Since all of the MOD35 lift's control and communications functions are housed in the pendant, the electrical console can be mounted on a wall up to 200 feet away from the lift. As a result, facilities gain about five square feet of working area around each lift.
Additional features of the MOD35 inground lift include an Enviroguard™-coated underground containment that protects against corrosion, a simplified slip clutch chain drive, a new abrasion-resistant guide that protects the hydraulic hose, new control features for quicker setup, and a patent-pending new installation method that requires up to 25 percent less concrete resulting in lower installation costs. Rotary Lift uses a variety of unique coatings and processes to protect the MOD35 series from corrosion, including nitriding all its shutter plate trench covers, electrocoating its frames and using only fasteners treated with Magni 565 protective coating below ground.
The MOD35 heavy-duty inground lift is available with two (MOD35 model MOD235) or three (MOD35 model MOD335) multi-stage hydraulic cylinders and features a modular design that enables it to be customized for any application or location. Lifting capacity is 70,000 lbs. or 105,000 lbs., depending on the number of cylinders. Both models have been third-party tested and certified to meet the ANSI/ALI ALCTV 2011 safety and performance standard.
The MOD35 inground lift will be joined in the Rotary Lift booth by another heavy-duty product introduced this year: the MW-500 mobile wheel lift. The MW-500 wheel lift can raise, transport and position any size wheel or tire weighing up to 500 pounds, allowing one technician to do a job that usually requires two or more.
APTA Expo attendees can learn how to correctly use vehicle lifts at "Lifting Vehicles Safely," a free educational session presented by Spiller on Monday, Oct. 13, from 2:45 to 3 p.m. in the Bus Technical Maintenance & Clean Technology Learning Zone (rooms 382AB and 351AD).
