Rose Queen® Evanne Friedmann Crowned at Official Coronation Ceremony
Evanne Elizabeth Friedmann reigns as 93rd Rose Queen® for the 2011 Tournament of Roses®, Themed Building Dreams, Friendships & Memories
PASADENA, Calif., Oct. 28 /PRNewswire/ -- The Pasadena Tournament of Roses crowned the 93rd Rose Queen, Evanne Friedmann, today in an official coronation ceremony presented by Citizens Business Bank at the Pasadena Convention Center. Queen Evanne was officially crowned by the Tournament of Roses 122nd President Jeffrey Throop.

The seven young ladies of the Royal Court also debuted the beautiful halter-neck gowns provided by designer Tadashi Shoji. "The gowns are stunning," exclaimed the newly crowned Queen. "We absolutely love them and we truly feel like princesses in them."
Rose Queen Evanne Elizabeth Friedmann, 17, attends La Canada High School and resides in La Canada Flintridge. She is a member of National Charity League, the National Honor Society, California Scholarship Federation, an AP scholar and has been in the Girl Scouts for 13 years. Evanne is active in the concert choir at her school and serves as the senior class videographer. She was a model between the ages of 8 and 12, which sparked a passion for film and performance. She was recently part of an improv group called, Comedy Sportz and sees herself as a director or editor for films and media in the future. In her free time she enjoys making videos for both fun and school and likes to play classic games such as Solitaire, chess and Scrabble. Her parents are Kurt and Gayle Friedmann and she has two older sisters, Haley, 21, and Lynn, 19.
As an official ambassador of the Tournament of Roses, Queen Evanne will participate in approximately 150 community and media functions along with Rose Princesses Tatyane Anaid Berrios, 17, Arcadia High School; Sarah Christine Fredrickson, 17, Maranatha High School; Jessica Michelle Montoya, 17, Flintridge Preparatory School; Tenaya Miyoko Senzaki, 17, Pasadena High School; Kathryn Morris Thomson, 17, Flintridge Sacred Heart Academy; Michelle Kaye Washington, 18, Pasadena City College.

Today's Coronation will provide material for another online entry for The Rose Diaries. The Rose Diaries give a behind-the-scenes look at the 2011 Rose Queen and her Court as they proceed from initial tryouts to the Rose Parade presented by Honda and Rose Bowl Game presented by VIZIO on New Year's Day.

The Pasadena Tournament of Roses
The Pasadena Tournament of Roses is a volunteer organization that annually hosts the Rose Parade® presented by Honda, Rose Bowl Game® presented by VIZIO and various associated events. The 122nd Rose Parade presented by Honda, themed Building Dreams, Friendships & Memories, will take place Saturday, Jan. 1, 2011, at 8 a.m. (PST) featuring majestic floral floats, high-stepping equestrian units and spirited marching bands.
