RootMetrics Invites Carriers to their Big Dance with its "4G Mobile Madness" Challenge; Pays Winners to Break Their Wireless Contract or Offers Them New Smartphone
New Twitter Contest Provides People Chance to Download, Tweet and Win
BELLEVUE, Wash., March 13, 2012 /PRNewswire/ -- RootMetrics™, the first independent service to measure mobile experience from a consumer's point of view, today kicked-off a "4G Mobile Madness" sweepstakes on Twitter, allowing people to put their wireless carrier's 4G claims to the test for a chance to win a new smartphone or even pay to break the user's current wireless contract.
To enter, participants must follow @RootMetrics on Twitter, download the RootMetrics Cell Phone Coverage Map app for iPhone or Android devices, run a test of mobile coverage and then post on Twitter EITHER a screenshot of the result OR the color and speed result. Entries must include the hashtag #4GMobileMadness to be eligible.
"This promotion is a great way to engage consumers and truly put the wireless carriers' claims to the test," says Bill Moore, CEO of RootMetrics. "Everyone roots for the underdog this time of year. We don't have a rooting interest for any particular carrier, but we do want to help cell phone users to align with the carrier best suited for them and this is a fun way to help them do that."
The sweepstakes tips off with the start of the 2012 NCAA Tournament on Tuesday, March 13, 2012 and runs through the end of the tournament on Monday, April 2, 2012. Then, on Monday, April 9, 2012, RootMetrics will randomly select five (5) winners to either choose a brand new smartphone or have RootMetrics pay the penalty fee of breaking their current wireless contract to sign up with a different carrier. Winners will be announced to the public on Monday, April 16, 2012.
