Ronald McDonald House Charities® New York Tri-State Area Vehicle Donation Day November 12, 2015
Charity accepting vehicle donations to support its Mission
ISELIN, N.J., Nov. 12, 2015 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- Ronald McDonald House Charities® New York Tri-State Area (RMHC® NYTSA) today announced the RMHC® Vehicle Donation Day on November 12, 2015, which is the Charity's call to action to support families with children facing medical crises and also aspiring college students.
The organization invites individuals, businesses and community groups to donate unwanted vehicles by visiting www.carshelp.org and designating RMHC® NYTSA as the charitable beneficiary. Donated cars, trucks, recreational vehicles or boats are picked up free of charge, and vehicles are then sold at auction with the donor receiving an acknowledgment of their tax-deductible donation. The auction proceeds could provide accommodations at a Ronald McDonald House for a family while their child receives medical treatment; meals and snacks and a comfortable place to rest inside a hospital at a Ronald McDonald Family Room; or financial support for an aspiring college student with an RMHC® scholarship.
"The donation of an unwanted vehicle on this or any other day of the year is a simple act of kindness that is a powerful gift for local youth and families served by Ronald McDonald House Charities," said Christopher Perry, Executive Director of RMHC® NYTSA. "For families with children in need of critical medical care, the thought of being more than a few steps from the hospital seems just too far. Donated vehicle sales proceeds can make a big difference for these families by allowing them to stay close to their hospitalized child, and the proceeds could also help a young person to achieve their dreams of attending college."
