WOODCLIFF LAKES, N.J., Jan. 11, 2016 /PRNewswire/ --
Rolls-Royce Motor Cars, the pinnacle brand in the luxury automotive industry recorded a second consecutive year of record sales for 2015. Sales rose 6% for the year, with North America remaining the largest region, representing one-third of the iconic brand's sales. Rolls-Royce Motor Cars continued to dominate the super-luxury segment (motor cars topping $250,000). A steady stream of exciting new products and exclusive Bespoke features have fueled the demand from discerning Rolls-Royce Motor Car owners.
Excitement for Ghost Series II drove an increase in demand that was key to achieving record sales as customers opted for the ultimate entrepreneurial tool. The combination of technology, design presence and an effortless drive experience continued to bring new owners to the brand.
"Ghost's continued success adds to the halo of the brand. This is fantastic as it comes directly following 2014, which was driven by Wraith's first full year in the family," stated Pedro Mota, incoming President of Rolls-Royce Motor Cars North America. He added, "It's an exciting challenge to join the brand at such a dynamic time in its history. We are not a volume driven brand, maintaining the high-level of Bespoke content is key as that is what makes the brand truly unique and exclusive."
Rolls-Royce Motor Cars continues to expand its product diversity, exciting new and younger customers. Offers such as the inspired specification series ('Wraith Inspired by … Film, Fashion & Music') introduced the iconic brand to a new generation of luxury aficionados. Meanwhile, classic Bespoke limited collections such as Phantom Nighthawk Drophead Coupé and Phantom Limelight allowed the brand to show the multifaceted and sophisticated styles of Rolls‑Royce owners. North America retains its position as one of the top Bespoke markets worldwide, with unique content at more than twice the level prior to the 2013 launch of Wraith.
Rolls-Royce Motor Cars strengthened its geographic diversification as well. California, Florida and the New York metropolitan area remained the driving markets for the brand although its retail presence was reinforced nationwide, expanding throughout the continent. Sales in the Midwest grew significantly with outstanding client service meeting demand, particularly in the Chicago area. Rolls-Royce saw all-new world-class facilities open in Washington DC and Miami and broke ground for a new facility in Toronto. Canada remains an exciting market for North America, representing more than 5% of the demand in the region.
"We are proud to set yet another record for 2015. But more importantly, we continuously look to the future and have already worked with owners to commission a significant number of Rolls‑Royce motor cars for delivery in 2016. Driven by the hotly anticipated all-new Rolls-Royce Dawn, with its first model-year fully subscribed, we expect to deliver on our pinnacle promise and again meet record demand with uncompromising quality in 2016," said Pedro Mota as he summarized the business that he took over on January 1, 2016.
Globally, Rolls-Royce Motor Cars announced 2015 sales at the second-highest level ever recorded in its 112-year history. A total of 3,785 hand-built motor cars were commissioned by customers worldwide last year.
