Rollout Closes Series A Funding
-- Canaan Partners Israel leads $2 million investment with participation from Plus Ventures, 2B Angels and Star Farm Ventures --
SAN FRANCISCO, Oct. 21, 2015 /PRNewswire/ -- Rollout, a mobile DevOps company, today announced that it has completed a Series A round of financing to further develop and commercialize the company's SDK, which allows mobile developers to easily and quickly debug, control and fix live apps in real time. The $2 million investment was led by Canaan Partners Israel (CPI) and included participation by existing investors Plus Ventures, 2B Angels and Star Farm Ventures. Izhar Shay, Canaan Partners Israel's Managing General Partner, will join Rollout as a new board member.
The Series A funds will be used to develop additional product features such as launch Android support for the SDK and execute on the company's go-to-market strategy. Rollout is also expanding its presence to the U.S., and has hired NY-based Ophir Prusak as its VP of Marketing.
"CPI forges long term partnerships with entrepreneurs who are passionate about their ideas and diligent on executing their plans," said Izhar Shay, Managing General Partner of Canaan Partners Israel. "Rollout is in a prime position to revolutionize how mobile apps are updated and deployed, which will have profound business implications for the mobile development and operations of almost any company."
Last month, Rollout debuted at TechCrunch Disrupt SF 2015's Startup Battlefield, the world's preeminent startup competition. Rollout's SDK enables mobile developers to instantly push code level updates and bug fixes to live apps in production, which greatly reduces the operational tasks between release cycles and how mobile companies interact with their production environment. The ability to push production changes in real-time, minimizes and prevents negative user experience, bad app store reviews, app uninstalls and lost revenue. Rollout's SDK can be installed in minutes and does not require modifying existing app code nor does it have any performance penalty.
To date, more than 2,000 developers use Rollout in more than 120 apps, running on more than 12 million weekly active devices. Companies using Rollout include, Intuit, Badoo, ask.fm, Glow, and GrabTaxi, among many others.
"We are proud to have the financial backing and partnership of CPI, Plus Ventures, 2B Angels and Star Farm Ventures," said Rollout CEO and Co-founder, Erez Rusovsky. "They have demonstrated their ability to identify companies with revolutionary products and dedicated entrepreneurs, and we're honored to be included as one of their portfolio companies."
"Ophir is a strong asset to our team and we're excited to have him on board to introduce our SDK to the U.S. market," said Eyal Keren, Rollout's CTO and Co-founder.
