Roland DGA Announces the Availability of New ErgoSoft Roland Edition 2 RIP Software for its Texart™ Dye-Sublimation Printers
IRVINE, Calif., May 31, 2017 /PRNewswire/ -- Roland DGA, a leading provider of wide-format printers, printer/cutters and other advanced digital devices, announced today that ErgoSoft Roland Edition 2 RIP software is now available for its Texart series dye-sublimation inkjets. Developed by ErgoSoft exclusively for Roland's Texart RT-640 and XT-640 printers, this powerful updated RIP includes a host of new and innovative features for creating stunning sublimated sports and fashion apparel, soft signage, interior decor, promotional goods, personalized gifts, and more.
Roland RT-640 and XT-640 customers who activated the previous ErgoSoft Roland Edition RIP software on or after March 8, 2016 are eligible to update to ErgoSoft Roland Edition 2 free of charge. Users who activated their ErgoSoft Roland Edition software prior to March 8, 2016 can update to ErgoSoft Roland Edition 2 for a fee. Customers seeking an update should contact their authorized Roland DGA dealer.
ErgoSoft Roland Edition 2 provides over 40 new features and enhancements designed to bring out the best in Roland's printers and make producing sublimated output easier than ever. Image Add-On functionality allows for several new effects, including barcodes, rulers and drill holes. Multiple effects can also be applied to a single set of data. In addition, the updated software supports file formats that are commonly used for textile printing. The Step & Repeat feature, which enables the flawless repeating of textile patterns from a single image, is now available for PDF and EPS file formats, while the Color Replacement feature, ideal for creating multiple color variations, is available for TIFF and PSD file formats. Variable Data Printing, which maximizes efficiency when producing uniforms and personalized goods, is now also included as standard.
ErgoSoft Roland Edition 2 is uniquely designed to boost user productivity. A new dithering method increases rasterization speed and improves dot placement accuracy, resulting in 40 percent faster RIP times and smoother gradients. The new Aurelon PDF engine displays dynamic, color-correct previews of PDF files and optimizes overall performance and color management. ErgoSoft Roland Edition 2 also offers up to eight simultaneous RIP Servers for dramatically reduced processing time when working with high-capacity data or multiple data sets at the same time. Additional features include a new Printer Pool feature that maximizes job management flexibility for users with multiple printers of the same type, plus a new Hot Folder feature for increased efficiency when batch printing images with the same specific print settings.
"There is increasing demand for customized items – products with shorter life cycles – that suit a wide variety of needs and tastes," noted Lily Hunter, Roland DGA's product manager for textiles and consumables. "This advanced, feature-filled software makes handling diverse production runs easier and more efficient for Texart printer users."
