Rokkan Continues Leadership Growth with New Executive Creative Hires
Laura Mulloy and Michael Ma Join Rokkan as SVP, Executive Creative Directors
NEW YORK, Aug. 15, 2016 /PRNewswire/ -- Rokkan (www.rokkan.com), a full-service agency and a member of the Publicis Groupe, today announces two key hires in its New York headquarters. Laura Mulloy and Michael Ma join the agency as Senior Vice President (SVP), Executive Creative Directors. Mulloy will lead all 360-creative, and Ma will lead all visual design over products and platforms. With the additions of Mulloy and Ma, Rokkan aims to further bolster the creative team, led by Brian Carley, Chief Creative Officer.
This announcement follows an impressive year of new brand partnerships and staffing growth for Rokkan, including a series of recent wins and leadership changes at Rokkan Los Angeles. The continued expansion of Rokkan's creative leadership aligns with the agency's larger vision of seamlessly converging 360-creative and digital experiences to form meaningful, hybrid solutions.
"Bringing Laura and Michael on board now represents a sea change at Rokkan, where their skills and expertise are necessary in order for us to bring next level creative work to our clients," said Brian Carley, Chief Creative Officer. "In the future, the best digital experiences will require provocative storytelling and traditional creative mediums will crave immersive and engaging interactivity. Laura and Michael will spearhead the teams that will uncover the places where these two overlap."
Mulloy will lead 360-creative work for globally recognized clients such as Hallmark, Veuve Clicquot, William Grant & Sons, The Humane Society, and others. Prior to joining Rokkan, Mulloy served as an Executive Creative Director for Saatchi & Saatchi New York. In her four years with the sister Publicis agency, Mulloy oversaw a Tide campaign for Super Bowl XLVIII that was shortlisted at the Cannes Lions International Festival of Creativity. She has also contributed to creative work for such iconic brands as Goodwill, Sony, Sprint, Adidas and MINI, among many others.
"In a time when a lot of agencies are struggling to find their way, Rokkan has managed to reinvent itself while also staying true to its original values," said Mulloy. "I'm looking forward to being an agent for that change and continuing to push creative boundaries with the incredible team that Rokkan has assembled."
Ma joins Rokkan from the Barbarian Group where he most recently served as Head of Design and Managing Group Creative Director, leading visual design for many of the agency's clients including, AOL, Bloomberg LP and Bloomberg Philanthropies, General Electric, IBM, Pepsi, Red Bull, Samsung and Tommy Hilfiger. Helping brands create digital products and solutions has been fundamental to Rokkan's roots, from launching the first VirginAmerica.com to most recently pushing Pantone's products and services further into digital with PANTONE Studio. Ma will help to redefine what design means at Rokkan and oversee creative efforts for clients such as Cadillac, JetBlue, American Express, Samsung, and others.
On joining the Rokkan team, Ma said: "Rokkan is experiencing immense all-around growth right now--it's an exciting time to be joining the agency. I'm looking forward to continuing what Rokkan has started and contributing to its evolution."
