Rockwall Dickey's Barbecue Pit Sponsors 'Build a Bridge Save a Life' Night

ROCKWALL, Texas, Jan. 31, 2011 /PRNewswire/ -- Dickey's Barbecue Pit in Rockwall is working with the Bridge Breast Network charity to sponsor the "Build a Bridge Save a Life" event this Saturday, February 5th.

The Bridge Breast Network helps North Texas women without insurance pay for breast cancer treatment.

"We wanted to sponsor and host an event that really meant something to us," Franchise Owner Tim Grosse said. "This is a great opportunity to give back to a wonderful organization. By doing this, I feel like we can really make a difference in getting these women the treatment they need to save their lives."

The event will be held at the Rockwall Central Office Gym from 6-10p.m.

Tickets for the event can be purchased at the Dickey's location at 2951 Ridge Road Suite 119.

Tickets are for $25 for couples, $40 for a family, and $13 for an individual and $7 for children under 13.

"This is a cause that is close to people in our community" he said. "We hope to raise as much money and awareness as we can."

Organizers said patrons can enjoy live music, raffle prizes as well as Dickey's mascots.

Dickey's will cater the event as well as making a donation to the charity.

Dickey's Barbecue encourages all franchise owners to engrain themselves in the surrounding community.

The first Dickey's Barbecue opened in 1941 in Dallas, TX.

The original location is still open for business and Dickey's Barbecue is still owned and operated by the Dickey Family.
