Rocketrip Customers Save $238 Per Business Trip in Q1 2015
Business travel platform introduces new features to make employee budgets even more accurate, easier to generate and available in any global currency
NEW YORK, April 9, 2015 /PRNewswire/ -- Rocketrip, the first commercially available platform that rewards employees for saving money on business travel, announced today that its customers have saved an average of $238 per trip in Q1 of 2015. To make trip budgets even more accurate, convenient and international-friendly, Rocketrip has made improvements to its 'Budget to Beat' feature set.
Since Q1 2014, Rocketrip's customer base has grown 575%, welcoming industry-leading tech companies such as Opower, ShareThis, and Elite SEM. Many new Rocketrip users are based outside the U.S., and international travel can make arrival times, multi-destination hotel booking and currency conversion tricky. Therefore, Rocketrip's development team took steps to simplify these challenges. New features include:
- Budget by Arrival Time: Business travelers typically need to arrive at their destination in time to make a meeting. Now, employees can select an arrival time as an alternative to a departure time when they generate their 'Budget to Beat,' which is based on real-time market prices. In budget calculations, Rocketrip will only include flights that would arrive in time. This will make budgets even more accurate and specific to each traveler's itinerary.
- Multi-Destination Hotels: Business travelers often visit multiple cities on a single trip. To make budgeting easier, Rocketrip now accounts for multi-hotel trips. Rather than producing separate budgets for each city, users can produce a single budget to cover all flights and all hotels on a trip. Rocketrip is the first travel platform able to accommodate multi-destination hotels.
- Budgets in All Currencies: Users can now generate a budget in any global currency. This ensures that employees can view their budget parameters in a currency they understand well. In Rocketrip settings, users or travel managers can personalize the currency to each office or user as needed. Rocketrip calculates the exchange rate in real-time as users create their budget.
"Rocketrip is quickly growing into a global service provider, and we believe it is important to make our technology accessible no matter where users live and travel," said Dan Ruch, founder and CEO of Rocketrip. "These new features will especially benefit users who live or travel outside the U.S. and tend to take more complex, multi-city trips."
