Rockefeller Financial Names Matthew D. Gelfand as Senior Wealth Advisor
NEW YORK, April 1 /PRNewswire/ -- Rockefeller Financial ("Company") — a leading global wealth management firm serving high-net-worth individuals, families, trusts, foundations and endowments — announced today that it has named Matthew D. Gelfand as a Senior Wealth Advisor in its Rockefeller Wealth Advisors unit.
Mr. Gelfand is based in Rockefeller Financial's Washington, D.C. office where he will work closely with the Company's D.C.-based professionals on existing client relationships, new business development, and outreach in the Mid-Atlantic region. He will also collaborate with the Company's broader investment teams on asset allocation and manager selection, as well as on client investment strategy.

Prior to joining Rockefeller Financial, Mr. Gelfand was most recently a Managing Director at Potomac Asset Management, where he was responsible for planning and managing portfolios for various investors and conducting research on the economic outlook, capital markets and selection of investments covering all financial asset classes. From 1989 through 2009, Mr. Gelfand held a number of senior positions at financial institutions where he planned and managed diversified portfolios for high-net-worth families, trusts, endowments, foundations and pension plans and provided leadership in such areas as investment policy, research and marketing. Prior to beginning his career in investment management, Mr. Gelfand was an Economist with the Board of Governors of the Federal Reserve System.
Mr. Gelfand holds a Ph.D. in Economics from the University of Pennsylvania and a B.A. in Economics from Yale University. He is also a Chartered Financial Analyst charterholder and a Certified Financial Planner™ professional. He is a member of the CFA Institute, the CFA Society of Washington D.C., and the Financial Planning Association.
