Rock Quarry Elementary School and Chrysler Brand Partner to Help Rebuild the Tuscaloosa Community Schools
TUSCALOOSA, Ala., May 24, 2011 /PRNewswire/ -- The Chrysler brand is teaming up with the Rock Quarry Elementary School in Tuscaloosa, Ala., to help replenish tools and supplies lost in last month's deadly tornadoes.
Locklear Chrysler Jeep® Dodge will bring out the entire Chrysler brand lineup for the public to test-drive. For each test-drive, Chrysler will donate $20. Profits raised will benefit three Tuscaloosa public elementary and middle schools – Alberta Elementary School, Holt Elementary School and University Place Elementary/Middle School. Test-drives will take place at the annual Rock Quarry Country Fair from 4 p.m. -7 p.m. Tuesday, May 24.
"The Rock Quarry Country Fair gives us a wonderful opportunity to raise money for the schools that were completely destroyed by the storms," said Cathy Elliott, Rock Quarry PTA President. "These kids deserve a fully functioning classroom, and this is our chance to come together and help rebuild so much of what was lost."
Admission on the day of the event for the public into the fair is $10. Preordered wristbands are available for $8 in the Rock Quarry Elementary school front office. Attendees can participate in many family activities, including a moonwalk, carnival booths, prizes to win and a rock-climbing wall. Fairgoers also are asked to bring an age-appropriate book for preschoolers through eighth grade that will be donated to help build classroom libraries for the next school year.
