Rock & Dirt to Release Second Auction Results Book
CROSSVILLE, Tenn., Jan. 25, 2012 /PRNewswire/ -- Rock & Dirt, The Equipment Marketplace and preeminent "buy/sell" resource for heavy construction, is planning a January release of "Auction Results, Market Trends and Evaluations," the second edition of its popular auction results book initially published last year.
The book includes results from 2011 for the sale of heavy equipment at auction by IronPlanet, a leading online service, and other major auction firms that conduct on-site sales.
"This book follows last year's successful directory," said Travis Clark, sales manager for Rock & Dirt. "It's a collection of current sales data on construction equipment, drilling equipment, and work trucks that we collected from the most reliable sources in the industry," he continued.
Clark said the book contains specific information about thousands of individual machines, including condition, serial number, model number and year.
"These are extremely valuable details that buyers and sellers can reference as a benchmark when they're in the market," he remarked.
The book contains buyer search data from the Internet that shows market trends for 2011. The data is based on RockandDirt.com traffic patterns from Google Analytics. Also included are evaluation reports for 30 major categories, including equipment, trucks and trailers. Within each category are top searches by manufacturer, sub-category and/or model and auction average.
Clark said that 3,000 of the books would be mailed to the largest volume machine and truck buyers in the U.S. Another 2,000 copies will be distributed to buyers attending the upcoming Florida auctions, including Alex Lyon and Yoder & Frey in Kissimmee, as well as IronPlanet in Polk City.
Since 1950, Rock & Dirt is published three times monthly and mailed to contractors in every state of the U.S. and more than 130 other countries. Each print issue focuses on a specific U.S. region: Eastern, Central and Western. The print edition contains a section for Parts & Attachments, as well as Equipment, Trucks & Trailers, Cranes and Auctions/Events.
RockandDirt.com mirrors the print edition and is similarly organized. In addition to category icons, buyers can use a number of search techniques, including keyword, manufacturer, year and state. Continuously updated, the site also features auction results, free want-to-buy listings and Jobsite Weather.
Rock & Dirt is published by TAP Publishing, which has operated since 1937 in Crossville, TN. For more information, email Travis Clark, sales manager, at [email protected], or call 800-251-6776 or 931-484-5137.
