Robust CompactPCI PlusIO SBC with 3rd Generation Intel Core i7 Processor Available from MEN Micro
High-performance F22P offers full 64-bit support and processing speeds up to 3.3 GHz
AMBLER, Pa., June 26, 2013 /PRNewswire/ -- MEN Micro Inc., a world-renowned provider of embedded computing and I/O solutions for mission-critical industrial, mobile and harsh environment applications, has released the versatile, high-performance F22P, the latest CompactPCI PlusIO SBC (single board computer) that uses Intel's 3rd generation Core i7 processor.

Offering processing speeds of up to 3.3 GHz using Intel's Turbo Boost technology, the low power SBC delivers excellent graphics performance for computing environments requiring intense data throughput. Typical applications include avionics and space technology, medical engineering and transportation.
The robust, flexible F22P is an expansion of the scalable CompactPCI PlusIO embedded computing family, serving to bridge legacy CompactPCI systems with newer CompactPCI Serial-based ones. It is backward compatible with all SBCs complying with PICMG 2.30 and PICMG 2.0.
Equipped with special components from the Intel Embedded Line, the F22P has a guaranteed minimum availability of seven years. And, since the SBC is part of MEN Micro's product family concept, a system using the new SBC can easily be upgraded with future boards, ever extending the lifecycle of the computing system.
Standard front I/O includes a VGA graphics port as well as two ports each for Gigabit Ethernet and USB 2.0. Additional functions, including digital video interfaces via DVI and a multitude of UARTs, USBs, SATA and HD audio, can be implemented by connecting extension cards.
Rear I/O incorporates four each of PCIe, USB and SATA ports as well as a 1 GbE interface.
The SBC includes 16 GB of DDR3 DRAM memory with ECC functionality and 64 Mbits of boot Flash. An mSATA disk and a microSD card connected via USB give the board almost unlimited memory space for specific applications.
All components, including onboard memory, are firmly soldered against shock and vibration. The SBC, which operates from -40 degrees C to +85 degrees C, is prepared for conformal coating against humidity and dust.
Different watchdogs for monitoring the processor and board temperatures, as well as a Trusted Platform Module chip, top off the functionality of the F22P. The SBC ships with board support packages (BSPs) for Windows and Linux.
Pricing for the F22P is $2,734 in single quantities. Delivery is six to eight weeks ARO.
