Robotics Innovator Sarcos Appoints Admiral William Owens and Former Microsoft CFO Peter Klein to Strategic Advisory Board
SALT LAKE CITY and SEATTLE, May 7, 2015 /PRNewswire/ -- Leading robotics company Sarcos Corp. announced today that Admiral William "Bill" Owens and Peter Klein have joined the Company's Strategic Advisory Board.

Admiral William Owens has built a storied career in both the military and private sector. He is the former Vice Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, the second-ranking military officer in the United States. Among his many distinguished roles during his military service, he served as the Commander of the U.S. Sixth Fleet during Operation Desert Storm, the director of the Office of Program Appraisal for the Secretary of the Navy and as Commander of Submarine Group Six, the Navy's largest submarine group.
Following his retirement from the military, Owens pursued a distinguished private sector career in the technology and telecommunications industries, currently serving as the Chairman of the Board of Directors of CenturyLink and as the Chairman of AEA Investors ASIA. Previously, Admiral Owens served as Vice Chairman, President and Chief Executive Officer of Nortel Networks Corporation, taking the helm of the company following the disclosure of accounting irregularities. He also served as Vice Chairman, President and Chief Operating Officer of Science Applications International Corporation. Admiral Owens is currently a director of AEA Investors LP, Polycom, Inc., Viasystems Group, Inc., Wipro Limited, Flow Mobile, and Intelius Inc.
Mr. Klein has almost 25 years of experience as a senior finance executive. He served as Chief Financial Officer of WME, a global leader in sports and entertainment marketing and as Chief Financial Officer of Microsoft Corporation. During his 11 years at Microsoft, Mr. Klein held various roles prior to becoming Chief Financial Officer, including roles as Chief Financial Officer of the Server and Tools and Microsoft Business Divisions. Prior to joining Microsoft, Mr. Klein spent 13 years in corporate finance at high-growth companies. He held senior finance roles with McCaw Cellular Communications, Orca Bay Capital, Asta Networks and Homegrocer.com. Mr. Klein holds a B.A. from Yale University and an MBA from the University of Washington. He currently serves on the board of directors of F5 Networks and Apptio Inc.
