WASHINGTON, Nov. 8, 2018 /PRNewswire/ -- The U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) has launched a new and improved Regulatory Robot tool to help small businesses become familiar with and comply with applicable federal product safety requirements.
The newest version of the tool, Regulatory Robot 2.0, is a free resource, is much more efficient, and takes less than five minutes to complete. And, it is now smart phone friendly.
Under the previous version, users had to answer 15-20 questions about their product before they received a customized report of product safety information. The upgraded Regulatory Robot cuts that number down to three questions for the majority of users.
"The enhanced Regulatory Robot tool makes it much easier for small businesses to learn about and comply with applicable product safety rules that are in place to keep consumers safe," said CPSC Acting Chairman Ann Marie Buerkle. "I encourage small businesses to use this valuable tool as a resource frequently. Great credit should be given to the Small Business Ombudsman's Office for all of its hard work and efforts to roll out this new version of the Regulatory Robot."
Another brand new feature of Regulatory Robot 2.0 is its multilingual capability. The upgraded Regulatory Robot is now fully available in English and Chinese. It is partially available in Spanish, Vietnamese, and Indonesian.
Regulatory Robot 2.0 gives businesses a one-stop shop for identifying important product safety requirements that may apply to their products.
The Regulatory Robot is available on CPSC's home page, www.cpsc.gov, and at https://business.cpsc.gov.
