Former YouTube and SugarCRM Executives Join Online Gaming Innovator
SAN FRANCISCO, Feb. 5, 2015 /PRNewswire/ -- ROBLOX, the internet's largest user-powered game platform, announced the addition of two senior executives: Chief Marketing and Revenue Officer, Rick Silvestrini, and Chief Financial Officer, Andrew Chmyz. The pair joins an existing leadership team to support ROBLOX's rapid growth and manage expansion in 2015.
"With growth accelerating to more than 50% year over year, ROBLOX has become a leader in online gaming," said ROBLOX CEO David Baszucki. "Rick and Andrew have proven track records of building great teams and driving success. Their leadership will help us scale the ROBLOX team and increase our audience even faster."
Rick Silvestrini comes to ROBLOX from CreativeLive, a VC-backed education company, where he served as VP of Marketing and helped the company grow from 10 to over 100 employees in under two years. Prior to CreativeLive, Rick was Product Marketing Manager at YouTube, where he built a global product marketing team supporting all YouTube ad formats in over 20 countries.
Andrew Chmyz's extensive executive experience includes CFO roles at SugarCRM, Marimba, and Medallia, as well as a strong operating background from his tenure as COO at Concentric Medical, where he launched their international sales operations.
ROBLOX ranks as a top 15 gaming destination according to comScore and expects to increase headcount by at least 33% in 2015 to keep pace with its growing base of 4.5 million monthly active players. The platform is fueled by user-created games, which creators can monetize using ROBLOX's Developer Exchange program. The Developer Exchange paid out more than $1 million to hundreds of young game developers around the world in 2014, with top creators now tracking to earn $250,000 per year.
The ROBLOX community created more than 4.75 million games in 2014 alone.
