Robin Lineberger, CEO, Deloitte Federal Government Services, Awarded AFCEA Bethesda's Highest Industry Honor
WASHINGTON, May 12, 2011 /PRNewswire/ -- Robin Lineberger, chief executive officer, Deloitte Federal Government Services, has been awarded the Outstanding Achievement Award in Industry by Bethesda's chapter of The Armed Forces Communications and Electronics Association (AFCEA).
Presented annually, this prestigious industry recognition is a part of AFCEA's Bethesda Government-wide Initiatives Excellence Awards. It honors individuals whose contributions to the field are felt beyond their organizations and work provides outstanding support to government-wide initiatives. The recipient of the Outstanding Achievement Award in Industry demonstrates exemplary management and leadership skills that bring about tangible results to civilians.

As Deloitte's Federal Government Services CEO, Lineberger oversees the $1.3 billion organization which provides consulting, risk advisory, and financial advisory services to every cabinet-level agency in the U.S. government. In addition to his current position, Lineberger also serves on the Executive Committee for the Deloitte U.S. Firms.

Under Lineberger's leadership the practice has experienced a 10 percent growth in revenue and its workforce has increased to more than 6,000 practitioners. Through this growth, Deloitte has become one of the three largest professional services providers to the federal government, providing cutting edge solutions to federal clients through increased investment in innovation centers, talent, and strategic acquisitions
Lineberger was also recently named a commissioner on the TechAmerica Foundation's Commission on the Leadership Opportunity in U.S. Deployment of the Cloud (CLOUD2). The commission will provide the Obama Administration with recommendations for how the government could deploy cloud technologies and also shape how public policy will drive U.S. innovation in the cloud. Lineberger also serves on the Executive Committee of the Professional Services Council and is treasurer of the Northern Virginia Technology Council. He is also the co-chair of the National Collegiate Cyber Defense Competition advisory board.
Before entering the private sector, Lineberger served as a commissioned officer with the United States Air Force, where he started his career in the federal government in development and testing. Subsequently, Lineberger served as executive vice president of global public services practice at BearingPoint before the practice was acquired by Deloitte in May 2009.
The Outstanding Achievement Award in Industry also acknowledges Lineberger's commitment to the greater community. Committed to the rehabilitation and support of veterans, Lineberger is an advisory board member of Ride 2 Recovery and serves as a mentor to veterans through the American Corporate Partners program. Lineberger is also the senior, co-chair for the 2012 Leukemia Ball, The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society's annual black tie event.
Lineberger will be honored at the AFCEA awards luncheon on May 12 at the Willard Intercontinental Hotel.
