Robin L. Sherman is recognized by Continental Who's Who among Pinnacle Professionals
SAGINAW, Mich., Nov. 2, 2015 /PRNewswire/ -- Robin L. Sherman is recognized by Continental Who's Who as a Pinnacle Professional in the field of Food and Beverage Services. Robin is the Vice President of Correctional Operations with Canteen Services.
Since its inception in 1990, Canteen's Correctional Food services has been the undisputed leader in correctional food and commissary services across Michigan and Northern Indiana. Providing proper nutrition, the food and commissary programs can be tailored specifically to meet the unique needs of each facility and their inmate population.
Prior to her work with Canteen Services, Robin worked in the fast food industry from 1985 to 2002 for Burger King Restaurants in all lateral positions including Restaurant Manager. She also managed the cafeteria for Malleable Iron, General Motors for a brief time.
In her current capacity, Robin is responsible for the management and oversight of 38 correctional food service kitchens and 29 jail commissary accounts between Michigan and Indiana. In addition to her work with Canteen Services, Robin serves as the International Immediate Past President for ACFSA, the Association of Correctional Food Service Affiliates and is a member of the National Association of Professional Women, where she was recognized as an NAPW VIP Woman of The Year.
Outside of work, she enjoys catering events for family, friends and churches. Robin also enjoys spending time with her husband, grandchildren and going to the movies.
She is the recipient of an Honorary Food Service Doctorate degree from the National Association of Food and Equipment Manufacturing, which she attained in February 2015. In addition to her degree, Robin holds certifications as a Certified Correctional Food service Professional, (CCFP) Certified Corrections Food Systems manager, (CFSM) as well as a Certified Food Safety Trainer for the National Registry of Food Safety Professionals.
