Robert Singer named as top professional at World Jewish Congress
NEW YORK, Jan. 28, 2013 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- Robert Singer, currently director general and chief executive officer of the global non-profit organization World ORT, has been named to assume the most senior professional position, as Secretary General, at the World Jewish Congress (WJC), the leading international Jewish organization federating Jewish communities and organizations in 100 countries around the world.
Robert Singer has decades of experience in the public and non-profit sectors, having spent eleven years at the Israel Defense Forces, twelve years in the Israeli Prime Minister's Office, and fourteen years at World ORT. He currently resides in London.

Robert Singer will assume the position of Secretary General at the end of April 2013, and his appointment is expected to be ratified by the 14th World Jewish Congress Plenary Assembly, which will be held in Budapest, Hungary, from 5 to 7 May 2013.
The World Jewish Congress is the international organization that represents Jewish communities and organizations in 100 countries around the world. It advocates on their behalf toward governments, parliaments, international organizations and other faiths. The WJC represents the plurality of the Jewish people, and is politically non-partisan.
