Robert Marrs Joins ThermoEnergy as Vice President of International Business Development
WORCESTER, Mass., April 6, 2011 /PRNewswire/ -- ThermoEnergy Corporation (OTCBB: TMEN), an industry leader in wastewater recovery and emissions-free combustion technologies, announced today that Robert (Bob) Marrs has joined the company's senior management team as Vice President of International Business Development. Marrs will report to President and CEO, Cary Bullock.

Marrs will be charged with developing strategies, budgets and goals for international expansion of ThermoEnergy's Wastewater Recovery and emissions-Free, clean coal power generation technologies. His responsibilities will include international sales development, marketing and partnership activities, as well as building an international sales and technical support team.

Before joining ThermoEnergy, Marrs was Vice President of Business development at Calera, an engineering and high-technology firm specializing in development of a carbon capture technology. At Calera, Marrs led development of complex, international commercial projects, including the conception and implementation of business models for deploying carbon capture systems within a climate of evolving regulations and economic incentives. In addition, he spearheaded projects to promote clean energy in China and reduce CO2 emissions, including the facilitation of a project that was included in the joint US-China Clean Energy Program. Prior to Calera, Marrs served BOC (acquired by The Linde Group) in a number of senior business development and project management positions including Business Development Director, Vice President of Global Accounts, Global Vice President of BOC Process Systems, and Global Program Leader.
Marrs received his BS in Engineering from Lehigh University and his MBA in Marketing & Finance from the University of Connecticut. He is a member of The Society of Petroleum Engineers, American Institute of Chemical Engineers, Carbon Capture & Storage Association, and National Petroleum Refiners Association.
