Robert Ivy, Editor-in-Chief of Architectural Record, Receives 'Master Architect' Distinction
NEW YORK, April 6 /PRNewswire/ -- Alpha Rho Chi, a national architecture fraternity, has named Robert Ivy, FAIA, Vice President and Editorial Director of McGraw-Hill Construction Media and Editor-in-Chief of Architectural Record, as "Master Architect." Since its founding in 1914, the organization has named only seven persons with the "Master Architect" distinction: Nathan Ricker (the first graduate of an American architectural school), Cass Gilbert, Eliel Saarinen, John Wellborn Root, Ludwig Mies van der Rohe, Richard Buckminster Fuller, and I.M. Pei.
Selected for his contributions to communicating the value of design both within the fraternity and to the larger world, Robert Ivy will serve in an honorary, mentoring role with the students and alumni of the organization. He was also honored last year at American Business Media's Neal Awards as the 2009 Crain Award Winner, another highly prestigious award.
"A thoughtful and experienced leader, Robert Ivy oversees the editorial quality of 16 print and 17 digital publications at McGraw-Hill Construction," said James H. McGraw, IV, Vice President and Group Publisher, McGraw-Hill Construction. "Through his work here, he is helping to educate, lead and inspire the construction industry's next generation of designers, and we are delighted to see him honored by Alpha Rho Chi for his significant contributions."
