Robert D. Brown Joins Advent International as Managing Director and Global Head of Limited Partner Services

BOSTON, March 9 /PRNewswire/ -- Advent International, a leading global private equity firm, today announced that Robert D. Brown has joined the firm as a Managing Director and Global Head of Limited Partner Services.  He is responsible for Advent's fundraising and investor relations activities worldwide.

Prior to Advent, Mr. Brown was a Managing Director at The Carlyle Group focusing on North American fundraising and investor relations.  During his 11-year tenure at Carlyle, he raised capital for the firm's investment partnerships, including funds and co-investments, and was actively involved in product development, fund formation and marketing strategy.  Mr. Brown also served on the firm's Investor Relations Coordinating Committee, focusing on new fund initiatives, capital formation and limited partner relationships.

Mr. Brown has more than 15 years of fundraising and investor relations experience.  Prior to Carlyle, he was a Vice President in the Private Equity Group at Merrill Lynch, where he was responsible for raising private equity, real estate, hedge fund, co-investment capital and direct private placements for approximately 100 transactions.
