Robeks Introduces New and Original Smoothie Bowls in National Rollout; Eaten with a Spoon, Unique Yogurt-Fruit Combination Can't Be Found at Other Yogurt or Smoothie Retail Shops
LOS ANGELES, Nov. 10, 2011 /PRNewswire/ -- A new, tasty creation that unites the creamy smoothness of yogurt with the tangy, fruity taste of a smoothie – Smoothie Bowls – are now available at Robeks stores across the country. Eaten with a spoon, these delectable bowls are original to Robeks and can't be found at any other yogurt or smoothie store. The uniqueness lies not only in the high quality ingredients, but the way they are prepared.
Hard pack yogurt is carefully blended with fruit juice and whole fruit leaving small morsels of fruit intact and a thicker consistency. The result is a natural flavor burst with bits of mango, pineapple, strawberry, peach or other fruit in each bite of a Robeks Smoothie Bowl. Unlike Robeks traditional smoothies, Smoothie Bowls don't contain ice.
Live probiotic cultures in the hard pack yogurt give the bowls a silky, smooth quality. By contrast, typical retail yogurt products use yogurt made from powders that are dispensed from a machine, mixed with milk and containing emulsifiers.
Smoothie Bowls have the same nutritional benefits of Robeks smoothies and promote additional healthy advantages when nutritional boosts are added. The proprietary boosts aid in exercise recovery, brain, heart and lung function, weight loss, and immunity protection – something yogurt retailers don't offer. Locally sourced toppings add crunch to the eating experience and may include such vitamin-rich choices as "Green Earth," "Eternal Energy," and "Forever Fruit," featuring ingredients like trail mix, granola, dried or fresh fruit.
Available in most of the smoothie flavors currently on Robeks menu, Smoothie Bowls range from tropical blends like Mahalo Mango and Pina Koolada to exotic smoothies like the Acai Energizer and even the Naturally Coffee and Green Tea Smoothies, which have become a daily habit for many customers.
A Robeks franchise owner in San Diego, Dennis Sato, created the Smoothie Bowls concept this past spring while experimenting with different combinations of hard pack yogurt, fruit and juice. After extensive testing, Sato finally developed a product he and his staff both enjoyed. His idea was presented to corporate officials and Smoothie Bowls became an instant hit. Robeks rolled out the product this fall. Visit www.robeks.com for more information.
