Robbie McIntosh Named Executive Vice President, International For Capitol Music Group
HIGHLY-RESPECTED AND EXPERIENCED INDUSTRY EXECUTIVE TO PLAY KEY ROLE AT COMPANY
LOS ANGELES, April 15, 2013 /PRNewswire/ -- Robbie McIntosh has been appointed Executive Vice President, International of Capitol Music Group, it was announced today by Steve Barnett, Chairman and CEO of the company. In his new position, McIntosh serves as a senior member of Barnett's executive team, working closely with CMG label heads, artists and their management to ensure an innovative and collaborative approach in creating and overseeing strategic marketing and promotion plans for CMG artists globally. McIntosh will be relocating to Hollywood, CA from London, and be based in the company's iconic Capitol Tower.
As a highly-respected 20-year-plus industry executive, McIntosh is charged with creating and implementing global marketing campaigns, developing and maintaining strong relationships with Universal Music Group's International territories to ensure awareness and understanding of CMG's artist releases, and convey the company's strategic mission to the world. He'll work in concert with the company's affiliates to create and implement launch and long-term plans with each territory, and seek out new opportunities within the global business to further enhance marketing and promotion efforts. McIntosh will also develop and maintain solid relationships with International media and other strategic partners, to the benefit of CMG artists.

Prior to his new appointment with Capitol Music Group, McIntosh owned and ran RMC International, a global strategy, marketing and artist management company whose clients included AC/DC, Peter Gabriel, Sade and Gossip. Previously, McIntosh was a long-time and highly valued executive at Sony Music: In 2004, he became Senior Vice President, International Marketing for Sony/BMG UK, taking on the additional role of Senior Vice President, Global Marketing for Sony/BMG Europe. In these senior executive positions, McIntosh was responsible for creating and managing worldwide marketing campaigns for all of the company's UK-signed artists, as well as heading front-line artist marketing for Continental Europe. Artists McIntosh worked with during this period include Celine Dion, Jamiroquai, George Michael, Annie Lennox, Oasis, Foo Fighters and Ozzy Osbourne.
McIntosh was named Managing Director – International Repertoire Division for Sony Music in 2001, responsible for myriad label functions, coordinating releases for the Columbia, Epic and associated labels. Key successes for the company during this period included worldwide Platinum and multi-Platinum releases for a diverse array of artists, including Michael Jackson, Evanescence, Tony Bennett, Jennifer Lopez, Aerosmith, Bruce Springsteen, Mariah Carey and Beyonce.
He was named Head of Alternative Sales & Marketing for Sony Music UK in 1993, taking on the additional role of Director of Regional Promotions in 1995 and rising to Director, National Promotions for Columbia Records UK in 1997. In those positions, he worked closely with artists such as Destiny's Child, Lauryn Hill, Jeff Buckley, Korn, System Of A Down, Pearl Jam and Rage Against The Machine, amongst others.
