ALPHARETTA, Ga., May 22, 2012 /PRNewswire/ -- Each year, over 33,000 consultants, Audio-Visual integrators, designers, manufacturer reps, technology managers and end users from over 90 countries attend the InfoComm convention in Las Vegas. This year's show offers a church technology certification program led by Technologies for Worship Magazine (TFWM) that will feature Matt McKee, CEO of ROAR mobile apps and strategy for churches, as presenter on church social networking and church mobile apps.
"The folks at TFWM have put together an incredible church tech certification program to better empower churches to integrate mobile and social technology into their overall A/V church technology planning. This combined with A/V seminars will further help churches improve their worship productions," comments Matt McKee. "Having a strategy for using social media and mobile apps is more important than simply using the tools. I will shed light on how churches can connect the online world with the offline world to achieve their outreach goals."
Since InfoComm offers seminars and exhibits on all aspects of A/V technology, church technology staff will have a great opportunity to learn from the secular industry while applying specific technologies to the Church through TFWM's certification program.
"We're very excited to have Matt McKee and ROAR involved with the Technologies for Worship program at InfoComm this year," says Kevin Rogers Cobus, executive editor for Technologies for Worship Magazine. "Social networking and mobile app strategy are two very important topics right now. We feel that ROAR has set a great example in this area, creating intuitive and innovative apps for facilities of all sizes. Today it's as important to have a visible and valuable social media presence as it is to have good audio, video, and lighting within your house of worship."
TFWM has brought its training program to InfoComm specifically for house of worship techs and volunteers. The topics range from basic to advanced, and fit any experience level. TFWM seminars count towards Certified Technology Specialist (CTS) renewal credits, a technical proficiency measure that is recognized industry-wide.
TFWM seminars includes the following topics:
- The "Smoking Gun" of Audio: Sound Engineer Troubleshooting
- Social Networking: Covering Your Bases
- Mic'ing Live Instruments for Worship
- Rigging in Worship: What You Need to Know
- Strategic Streaming: A Purposeful Approach to Video Streaming
