DETROIT, June 22, 2016 /PRNewswire/ -- The North American International Auto Show (NAIAS) announced today that Roadshow by CNET, the single definitive auto destination for consumers, will be the first official strategic partner of AutoMobili-D, the new technology and innovation showcase. AutoMobili-D will be an exposition within NAIAS, focused on the rapidly evolving global automotive and mobility landscape and will include participation from more than 100 companies, including automakers, tier one suppliers and technology startups.
"Roadshow by CNET is the ideal partner for AutoMobili-D as the site's deep industry expertise aligns perfectly with the breaking news and industry innovations that will make their world debut on our global stage," said Sam Slaughter, 2017 NAIAS Chairman.
As part of the partnership, Roadshow's editorial team will assist NAIAS in curating content with automotive and tech industry thought leaders as well as provide analysis on the companies, both established and start-ups, that look to shape the future of the transportation industry.
"Teaming up with NAIAS as the first official partner of AutoMobili-D promises to build on our existing relationship," said Mark Larkin, Senior Vice President and General Manager of CNET. "Aligning the Roadshow brand with one of the most important auto shows made perfect sense as the automotive industry continues to change with the emergence of new technologies and innovation."
In addition to their strategic involvement with AutoMobili-D, Roadshow will return for the second year as the official digital news and video partner for NAIAS. Roadshow will host live-streaming of vehicle debuts, conversations with industry luminaries and real-time news coverage from the show floor booth. The site's live programming and social channels will extend the expansive global reach of NAIAS through engaging videos, eye-catching photos and thought-provoking interviews.
"Technology is pushing the automotive industry to evolve faster than ever before," said Tim Stevens, Editor-in-Chief of Roadshow. "Given the renewed focus on innovation at next year's NAIAS, we're thrilled that our friends in Detroit have turned to us again to bring our fresh editorial perspective to the greatest American auto show of the year."
Back by popular demand for the second year at NAIAS, CNET's Editor-at-Large Brian Cooley and Roadshow's Editor-in-Chief Tim Stevens will announce the Roadshow SHIFT awards, which will celebrate the companies and technologies that are innovating and upending the automotive industry.
