RMCAD's Interior Design Program Announces CIDA Accreditation For Its Online BFA Program
DENVER, Oct. 4, 2016 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- Rocky Mountain College of Art + Design (RMCAD) is pleased to announce that the Council for Interior Design Accreditation (CIDA) has granted accreditation for its online Bachelor of Fine Arts in Interior Design program. The on-campus interior design program has been accredited since 2001. CIDA is an independent, non-profit accrediting organization for interior design education programs at colleges and universities.
"We are so honored to receive this accolade and recognition of our high academic standards," said Nancy Bohnett, Chair of Interior Design for RMCAD. "As one of only three accredited online interior design programs in the country, we are thrilled to bring these standards to a global audience in order to improve the health, safety, and welfare of our communities through responsible design practices."
Through a process of program self-evaluation and peer review, accreditation promotes achievement of high academic standards, while making education more responsive to student and societal needs. CIDA engages nearly 200 volunteers, all drawn from interior design practice and education, to carry out its work. More than 150 interior design programs are currently accredited by the Council, serving an estimated 20,000 students.
The Council for Interior Design Accreditation is recognized as a reliable authority on interior design education by the Council for Higher Education Accreditation (CHEA). The CHEA-recognized scope of accreditation is of worldwide professional-level interior design programs that culminate in a bachelor's or master's degree.
RMCAD's proprietary online Learning Management System (LMS) provides students globally with rigorous design content throughout eight-week terms. Students have the flexibility to work when time allows and still participate in biweekly discussions with faculty and fellow students. RMCAD boasts a small faculty to student ratio and a sustainable interior design program.
Interested students can apply for online enrollment at any time during the year. More information can be found at www.RMCAD.edu. Contact Nancy Bohnett at [email protected] or 702.533.7928.
