R.J. Brunelli & Co. Announces Leases for Dollar Tree, Homesense and Others in New Jersey & New York
OLD BRIDGE, N.J., May 14, 2019 /PRNewswire/ -- R.J. Brunelli & Co., LLC today announced the recent completion of a series of leases that will introduce national and local retailers and service providers to sites in New Jersey and New York City.
In its role as Dollar Tree's exclusive real estate representative statewide, R.J. Brunelli brokered four additional leases for sites in New Jersey. In the central region, Dollar Tree is expected to open in July 2019 in a 15,000-square-foot inline unit at Linden Square Shopping Center located on West Saint Georges Ave. in Linden. The chain occupies the former National Wholesale Liquidators space in the Planet Fitness-anchored center. Ripco Real Estate served as a co-broker on the deal.
Elsewhere in the state, leases were signed that are projected to bring Dollar Tree to locations in Deptford (southern New Jersey) in September 2019, and Hamilton (central region) and Denville (northern region) in October 2019.
In the Hamilton transaction, co-brokered by Metro Commercial, Dollar Tree signed for a 9,764-square-foot inline space at Hamilton Plaza, a 151,000-square-foot center located on White Horse Pike and Kuser Rd. The chain will occupy a portion of a former Kmart store at the site, whose other tenants include Planet Fitness and a soon-to-open Starbucks. The Denville lease, co-brokered by Bill Schlossman of Castle Real Estate Services, will bring Dollar Tree to a 9,600-square-foot inline space at 559 East Main Street, adjacent to the New Jersey Transit Station. The chain will absorb a portion of a space previously occupied by a Foodtown supermarket. Finally, in Deptford, a lease was signed for a 10,000-square-foot location in an outparcel building shared by Auto Zone. Home Depot anchors the property, which is located at 1360 Hurffville Rd. The Deptford lease was co-brokered by Keith Seymour of Equity Retail Brokers.
All of the Dollar Tree leases were brokered by Danielle Brunelli, President and Principal of the Old Bridge-based firm.
In another major transaction, Ms. Brunelli represented the landlord on the lease that brought decor chain Homesense to the Manalapan EpiCentre on Rte. 9 South in Monmouth County. The growing TJX Cos. brand opened in late-February in a 29,000- square-foot space, taking the majority of the property's former Sports Authority store. Ms. Brunelli noted the 17,600-square-foot balance of the defunct chain's location is the only space available at the 460,000-square-foot power center, whose other anchors include Target, Wegman's, Marshall's, Home Goods, and PC Richard and Sons. "We're seeking a baby specialty store, flooring store or specialty craft store for this endcap unit," she said. R.J. Brunelli has long served as exclusive leasing agent for the Steiner Equities property.
In Middlesex County, as previously reported, R.J. Brunelli Senior Sales Associate Pete Nicholson brokered the 43,152-square-foot lease for Asian Food Markets at Plainsboro Plaza Shopping Center in Plainsboro. The store is projected to open in the next several months at the 220,000-square-foot center, which is currently anchored by Planet Fitness, CVS and Lightbridge Academy. R.J. Brunelli represented the tenant in its capacity as exclusive leasing agent for the chain in New Jersey, New York and Pennsylvania.
Elsewhere in Middlesex County, Ms. Brunelli represented the landlord on a lease with Supreme Barber for a 1,080-square-foot inline space at Browntown Shopping Center on Rte. 516 in Old Bridge. The firm is exclusive leasing agent for the 84,895-square-foot center, whose anchors include Walgreens.
In Passaic County, the firm represented the landlord of The Parke at Hamburg on a lease that will bring Learning Care Group's Everbrook Academy to a new, 12,850-square-foot freestanding building A spring 2020 opening is anticipated at the 48,350-square-foot center located on Hamburg Tpke.in Wayne. The firm serves as exclusive leasing agent for the supermarket-anchored property. R.J. Brunelli Investment Sales Specialist Mario Brunelli co-brokered the deal with Vicki Ezra of The Dartmouth Company.
In Mercer County, Allstate Insurance recently opened in a 1,620-square-foot inline space at Jersey Strong Plaza on Route 130 in Robbinsville. The transaction was brokered by Senior Sales Associate Alan Gott, who represented the tenant and landlord. R.J. Brunelli is exclusive leasing agent for the 67,000-square-foot property.
Finally, in New York City, as previously reported, sales associate David Singer signed women's fashion boutique Twenty5A to its first Manhattan location at 1630 Second Ave. The Long Island-based retailer will occupy 3,400 square feet, including 1,900 square feet on the ground floor and 1,500 square feet of basement storage space. In addition, Singer brokered the lease that will bring Duozo, a new Omakase sushi concept from chef Koji Kagawa, to a 1,560-square-foot corner location at 63 Delancey St. Singer also brokered the lease for Retro Coffee to occupy 730 square feet at 134 E. 17th St. The café and bakery is expected to open in early summer in the space formerly occupied by Tone Café.
