Rivet Software Releases a New Version of Crossfire Financial Management Solution That Addresses Customer Feedback to Improve User Experience and Ease of Filing
Also Offers Integration with Microsoft Office 2013
LAS VEGAS, Sept. 25, 2013 /PRNewswire/ -- Rivet Software, an industry leader in financial reporting, announced today at the XBRL US National Conference a new version of its industry-leading Crossfire software that features more efficiencies in filing, improved analytics, and greater ease of use. Crossfire 5.7 also supports Microsoft Office 2013, further solidifying Rivet's partnership with Microsoft and its flagship products -- Excel, Word and PowerPoint.
"This new version of Crossfire is aimed at implementing direct customer feedback by focusing on improvements in usability and on new features that make filing an easier task," said Jeston Moran, vice president of professional services. "Our most valuable assets are our customers and that's why it is important for Rivet to always listen carefully to their feedback and address their needs. One clear example of that feedback was integration of Crossfire with Microsoft Office 2013. By delivering on this critical customer need, we continue to lead in the Microsoft Office-Based Document, Disclosure and SEC Compliance Management space."
According to the company, improvements represented in this release of Crossfire fall into three categories:
- SEC Filing Process – Crossfire SEC package creation and Filing Wizard functionality in the Word version of Crossfire now give users new capabilities and greater control during the last step of the SEC filing process.
- Data Analysis and Reporting - Enhancements and usability improvements were made to the functionality supporting report creation and consumption of data from XBRL sources or internal ERP systems, such as Oracle and Hyperion. These changes heighten the report creation experience in the Excel version of Crossfire for new and existing users as well as offer a crisper and cleaner look-and-feel that aligns with a new generation of Microsoft Office applications.
- Usability and User Experience –Improvements in this category allow users to create financial reports and to file their reporting packages to the SEC in a more efficient and simpler manner.
According to Kevin Berens, Rivet's chief product officer, this new version of Crossfire is part of Rivet's aggressive product roadmap that is designed to focus on its highly collaborative Software as a Service (SaaS) platform and its high-touch, scalable services model. "We are always focusing on improving our software in a way that keeps increasing our customers' satisfaction with our offerings," said Berens. "Our goal with the Crossfire platform and our client services is to allow users to have greater collaboration and less dependency on the traditional financial compliance vendors."
In a related announcement made by Rivet on Monday, the company rolled out a sweeping strategic restructuring plan to further Rivet's leadership position in the Microsoft Office-based Document, Disclosure and SEC Compliance Management space. Newly appointed CEO Madelaine Rohan called the move, "a re-birth of sorts and a new era for a renewed company." The strategic plan for the company going forth will focus on improving overall operations, capturing market share and driving product innovation all to serve customers better, she said.
