Rivers Casino Celebrates One Year Anniversary

DES PLAINES, Ill., July 20, 2012 /PRNewswire/ -- Today Rivers Casino announced that in its first year it has paid ($129) million in gaming taxes to the State of Illinois and created 1400 full-time jobs.

With an average of over 10,000 guests daily, Rivers Casino has generated $109.5 million and $19.7 million in tax dollars to the State of Illinois and City of Des Plaines, respectively.  Rivers has also hired more than 1400 full time team member positions at the casino.  Total salaries and wages, benefits and tips average about $5.6 million per month.   Rivers Casino also makes it a priority to support local businesses and vendors.  In 2012 alone, Rivers Casino spent more than $19 million with Illinois vendors – including US Foods, Paulette Wolf Entertainment and Wirtz Beverage.
