Rivers Casino Announces 'Survivorman' Performance Event

PITTSBURGH, May 20, 2013 /PRNewswire/ -- Survivorman's next big adventure will bring him to the 'Burgh -- more specifically, Rivers Casino. Les Stroud, best known for his work as the award-winning producer and star of Discovery Channel's hit series "Survivorman," will host an exclusive performance and player event at Rivers Casino on Saturday, June 8, at 7 p.m. This is Stroud's first trip to Pittsburgh.

Stroud's adventures take him through climates that range from one extreme to another -- from stiflingly humid jungles in Costa Rica to the bitter cold of the Arctic, and from the arid conditions of the Sonoran Desert to the saturated swamplands of Georgia. He is the only producer in the history of television to produce an internationally broadcast series entirely written, videotaped and hosted alone.

At the Rivers event, Stroud and his band will give a live performance of his unique art-folk rock and exceptional blues harmonica skills. Guests will be treated to a question-and-answer session with Stroud, who will share some of his favorite stories from his many adventures. All attendees will also have the chance to get up close and personal during a meet and greet with Survivorman himself. 

Approximately 300 guests will attend the June 8 event, and only Rivers Casino Rush Reward members are eligible to win tickets. The event will take place in Rivers Casino's riverfront ballroom, which features the city of Pittsburgh as its brilliant backdrop.  

Survivormania: How to Win

Every day from now through May 28, Rush Reward members are invited to swipe their cards at Rivers' kiosk for a chance to win in the $100,000 Survivormania Grand Finale. Win tickets to the Survivorman show on June 8 (tickets will not be sold to the public), Free Slot Play and much more. The grand prize drawing will occur May 29 at 8 p.m., when 10 finale winners will compete for a top prize of $10,000 or the trip of a lifetime -- an exotic excursion.

Players can swipe their card one time per promotional day any time between 8 a.m. and 11:59 p.m. For interested guests who are not already members, Rush Rewards is free to join, and enrollment is available at the Players Club window.
